On January 1, 2025, Bhuvnesh Kumar, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1995 Uttar Pradesh cadre, assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
In addition to his new responsibilities at UIDAI, he continues to serve as an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Prior to this appointment, Kumar held several significant positions, including Joint Secretary in MeitY.
He succeeds Amit Agrawal, who has been appointed as the new Pharma Secretary.
